DroneShield Launches Charitable Merchandise Store - Giving Back to the Community That Built It
As one of Australia’s fastest-growing defence technology companies, DroneShield has launched a purpose-driven merchandise line – donating net proceeds from its inaugural drop to Commando Welfare Trust, an Australian charity that provides emergency and long-term support to the families of Australia’s most at-risk soldiers and veterans.
9 September 2025 – Sydney, Australia – DroneShield, a global leader in counter-drone (CUAS) technology for over a decade, is proud to announce the launch of its official merchandise store, with profits from its first campaign benefiting the Commando Welfare Trust.
From a five-person startup in Sydney to an ASX-listed defence technology company with customers around the world, DroneShield’s growth has been fuelled by purpose. The company is formalising its commitment to giving back through a charitable merchandise initiative that supports organisations aligned with the company’s defence and public safety mission.
The inaugural campaign will see profits donated to Commando Welfare Trust, a vital Australian charity that delivers emergency and long-term support to the families of Australian Special Operations Command (SOCOMD) soldiers that train under extremely dangerous conditions, are disproportionately deployed into combat and are 50% more likely to experience a casualty.
“We are honoured to partner with DroneShield on this initiative,” said Paul Dunbavin OAM, Executive Officer of Commando Welfare Trust. “When a leading Australian defence company like DroneShield steps forward to support our Special Operations families and community, it sends a powerful message – one of respect, remembrance, and shared responsibility. This campaign will have a tangible impact on the lives of those who have sacrificed so much in service to our country. We’re incredibly proud to stand alongside DroneShield in this effort.”
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to service in defence, industry, and the broader community. As DroneShield continues to grow globally, the company remains grounded in its values, recognising that real impact means standing behind those who serve not only in word, but in action.
“DroneShield exists to protect lives. That responsibility doesn’t end with the technology we build, it extends to the people and families who serve on the front line of our national security,” said Oleg Vornik,CEO of DroneShield. “We’re honoured to support Commando Welfare Trust and the work they do to stand by our Special Forces community.”
This initiative marks the beginning of a broader charitable commitment from DroneShield, with future merchandise releases to benefit other causes in regions where the company operates.
“As DroneShield has grown, so too has our commitment to the communities tied to our mission,” added Vornik. “This merch initiative is our way of ensuring that growth benefits those who have made the greatest sacrifices for our nation. Supporting the Commando Welfare Trust aligns with our values and reinforces our belief that giving back is integral to who we are.”
