Australian Law Enforcement Agency Adopts DroneShield Technology to Counter Drone Threats

Sydney, Australia 21 May 2025 – An Australian law enforcement agency has selected DroneShield to deliver advanced counter-drone solutions under a contract valued at over $1 million, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to safeguarding public safety and national security in the face of evolving unmanned aerial threats.

This strategic procurement forms part of a broader initiative to modernise law enforcement tools and mitigate the growing risks posed by unauthorised drone activity across Australian skies. The increasing accessibility of drones—and their use in surveillance, disruption, and potential attacks—demands fast, intelligent, and reliable responses.

DroneShield’s multi-layered solution suite includes a mix of hand-held, on-the-move, and expeditionary systems, enabling officers to detect, assess, and neutralise rogue drones with speed and precision. The selected technologies are designed for use in a range of operational settings, including protection of critical infrastructure, major public events, sensitive facilities, and restricted airspace zones.

At the core of DroneShield’s offering is a powerful integration of AI-driven radio frequency (RF) sensing, deep-learning-based signal recognition, and non-kinetic countermeasures—built for maximum impact with minimal complexity.

By working with an Australian-owned and operated technology provider, the agency is also reinforcing the importance of sovereign capability in national security. Locally developed and supported systems ensure rapid delivery, seamless training, and ongoing product updates tailored to the dynamic threat landscape. This partnership also supports the Australian Government’s Commonwealth Procurement Rules, which prioritise homegrown innovation and industrial resilience in defence and security.

“We’re proud to support another Australian law enforcement agency with our sovereign, AI-powered solutions,” said Oleg Vornik, CEO of DroneShield. “As drone incursions become more frequent, particularly around high-profile events and critical assets, frontline personnel need effective tools that are easy to deploy and operate. Our systems are built in Australia, for Australia’s unique operational needs.”

This procurement further strengthens DroneShield’s domestic footprint and highlights the increasing relevance of its solutions in the civilian security environment—where threats are becoming more complex, and response time is critical.

DroneShield continues to expand its leadership in the global counter-UAS market, delivering scalable solutions to military, government, and law enforcement customers, globally. Headquartered in Sydney, the company plays a key role in enhancing Australia's defence industrial base while contributing to international security operations.
