Rear Admiral Lee Goddard CSC Joins DroneShield as an Independent Non-Executive Director

Sydney, Australia – 22 June 2026 – DroneShield is pleased to announce the appointment of retired Rear Admiral Lee Goddard CSC as an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company, effective from 1 July 2026.  

Mr Goddard brings more than three decades of leadership experience across defence, national security, government and industry, together with significant board and governance experience in organisations operating at the intersection of advanced technology, defence capability and government.  

Mr Goddard currently serves as a Non-Executive Director of Austal Limited (ASX:ASB), Southern Launch and the Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation, and has previously held board and advisory roles with a range of defence and technology organisations.  

He has held a range of senior leadership and Command appointments within the Royal Australian Navy, culminating in the rank of Rear Admiral. Throughout his career he has developed deep expertise in defence capability, strategic planning, government acquisition systems, international defence cooperation and stakeholder engagement across Australia, the United States and allied nations. 

As Commander Maritime Border Command and Operation Sovereign Borders, he led complex multi-agency operations integrating Defence, Border Force and intelligence capabilities. He has also held senior strategic policy roles within Defence Headquarters and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, providing international policy advice at the highest levels of government and leading government initiatives involving Defence, Home Affairs, Treasury and Foreign Affairs agencies. 

His current and recent board and executive roles have provided direct exposure to defence procurement programs, export markets and government acquisition systems in Australia and key allied jurisdictions, particularly the United States.
