DroneShield Successfully Protects 30th SEA Games

Manila, Philippines and Sydney, Australia - 9 December 2019 - DroneShield Ltd (ASX:DRO or DRO.AU) (“DroneShield" or the “Company”) is pleased to report the combined elements of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) and PHISGOC Games Safety & Security Counter-Drone Team from Safer PH Innovations (DroneShield’s Philippines partner) successfully disabled seven commercial drones during the Opening Ceremony of the 30th Southeast Asian Games held in Philippine Arena, Ciudad de Victoria, Santa Maria, Bulacan, on 30th November 2019 between 6:45 PM to 7:30 PM.

Four of the nefarious drones simultaneously appeared along the flight path of the Presidential helicopter minutes before his arrival which prompted the PSG to deploy the DroneShield systems to prevent the drones from hitting the rotor blades of the helicopter and causing a catastrophic crash that would endanger the life of the Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte.

Droneshield’s RfPatrolTM was utilised for detection of the drones, while DroneNodeTM and DroneGun TacticalTM systems were deployed for neutralisation.

30th Southeast Asia (SEA) Games are held in the Philippines from 30 November 2019 to 11 December 2019. The Games are expected to include 11 participating nations and approximately 9,000 athletes, and consist of 530 events across 56 sports.
